The Choirs’ Union is a vital ministry within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), uniting church choirs across various presbyteries to enhance worship through sacred music and foster spiritual growth among congregants.
Mission and Activities:
Liturgical Music: The Choirs’ Union leads congregations in worship by performing hymns, anthems, and other sacred compositions, enriching the spiritual experience during services.
Fellowship and Development: Regular rehearsals, workshops, and retreats are organized to improve musical skills, deepen faith, and strengthen bonds among choir members.
Annual Delegates’ Conference: An important event in the union’s calendar is the Annual Delegates’ Conference, hosted by different presbyteries. This gathering provides a platform for choirs to share experiences, participate in musical performances, and discuss strategies for advancing the union’s mission.
Leadership Induction: The union periodically inducts new national officers to lead its activities and initiatives. For instance, an induction ceremony was held in December 2024 to appoint new leaders.
By participating in the Choirs’ Union, members contribute to the church’s worship life, develop their musical talents, and engage in meaningful fellowship. The union plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting the rich musical heritage of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
